China’s AMEC targets more than 100 high-end semiconductor equipment types within five years

China’s AMEC plans to expand its portfolio to more than 100 types of high-end semiconductor equipment within five years through in-house development and external acquisitions. Founder and chairman Yin Zhiyao made the remarks at the company’s 22nd anniversary event on Aug. AMEC said it has developed 54 types of high-end semiconductor equipment, including 26 plasma etching tools and 24 thin-film processing tools, as well as chemical-mechanical polishing and metrology equipment.
