Number of space startups rose from one in 2014 to over 400 in 2026: Government to Rajya Sabha

India's space sector has seen significant growth since private players entered in 2020. Over 400 space start-ups now exist, attracting more than $600 million in investment. Private investment reached $187 million in 2026, with 105 authorisations issued.
