Anthropic Releases Claude Sonnet 5 With Near-Opus Performance, Restores Fable 5 and Mythos 5 After US Lifts Export Controls

Anthropic has introduced Claude Sonnet 5 , a new model that offers capabilities previously exclusive to the Opus series at a more affordable price point. The launch comes as the US Department of Commerce lifts export restrictions on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. Starting Wednesday, Anthropic will restore global access to these two models.
