Disney+ is rebuilding its South African strategy, starting with a new app

Disney+ is replacing its South African streaming app from September 9, but the biggest change is not the app itself. Disney is using the migration to move South Africa onto its global streaming platform, widen access to its cheapest plan, and pull back from parts of the distribution infrastructure it has relied on locally. The existing app will remain available until October 12, after which Disney will retire it completely.
