African startups raised at least $443.43 million across 13 disclosed deals in August 2026 , according to an updated analysis of the funding dataset compiled for the month. The revised figures strengthen North Africa’s position following the inclusion of Egyptian fintech ValU’s $20.7 million raise , while Nigeria remained by far the largest destination for startup capital. Despite funding spanning four African regions and ten industries, August’s numbers remained highly concentrated.
