MapQuest expands to Android Auto as viral popularity brings drivers back

Credit: IGameShit / Reddit TL;DR MapQuest has launched experimental Android Auto support, bringing its mapping service directly to vehicle dashboards. The expansion follows a surge in viral popularity that propelled the nearly 30-year-old navigation service into the top 10 free app store charts after it took a stand against renaming “Lake Ontario” to “Lake America.” The update adds crowdsourced incident reporting, though early testers report unpolished performance and leftover iOS code.
