WhatsApp launches Bill Payments in India to take on Google Pay and Paytm

WhatsApp is rolling out its Bill Payments feature in India, allowing users to find, manage and pay utility bills directly within the app. In a statement on Thursday, WhatsApp said the Bharat Connect (BBPS) network will power the bill payment service and give users access to 22,722 billers across 30 categories. The categories listed include electricity, gas, water, FASTag, insurance, credit card and loan repayments.
