Banks, startup founders, and university professors stepped into three different rooms on the same day last week, each opening a new chapter in Africa’s AI story. At the CNBC Africa AI Summit in Sandton on August 27, South African banks moved past the pilot phase , unveiling concrete results that show AI is already at work. Discovery Bank said more than half of all client interactions now run through its AI banking channel, a shift it completed in three to four months.
