New Optical Fingerprint Could End the Password Era

Researchers from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia have developed a cybersecurity model that could reduce reliance on traditional passwords and security keys by assigning every device a unique optical identity. Designed to address growing cybersecurity challenges across cloud platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) networks, the new technology integrates microscopic laser chips into electronic devices, enabling them to produc
