GitHub outage: Microsoft works to restore services

GitHub has been hit by an unplanned outage with multiple core services experiencing elevated error rates and reduced availability. The Microsoft-owned code development platform began reporting problems from at least 3.40pm CEST on Monday, affecting a range of actions. GitHub Copilot, the platform’s AI coding assistant, was also operating with limited functionality during the incident.
