China-made Tesla Model Y becomes Japan’s top-selling imported vehicle model in H1

Tesla said its China-made Model Y became Japan’s best-selling individual imported vehicle model by new-vehicle sales in the first half of 2026. The company did not disclose unit sales. Tesla had about 35 stores and 14 service centers in Japan as of April and plans to expand its store network to at least 60 locations.
