MEA launches Instagram fact-check account after viral misinformation row

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has expanded its fact-checking efforts to Instagram. The move follows a viral social media post that falsely attributed remarks on alleged foreign funding of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)-led protests to MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. The ministry launched its new @meafactcheck Instagram account this week.
