Apple hits 1.5 billion subscription milestone, still falls short of Wall Street wants

Apple has reached 1.5 billion paid subscriptions across its platform, adding another milestone to an Apple Services business that generated record June-quarter revenue of more than $30 billion. Apple apps CEO Tim Cook disclosed the milestone during Apple's fiscal third-quarter earnings report . Apple didn't provide a breakdown showing how many subscriptions belong to its own services or third-party apps sold through the App Store .
