3D-Printed Metacrystal Panels Could Eliminate Dead Zones in Future 6G Networks
Future 6G networks are expected to deliver faster speeds and greater capacity by using higher-frequency radio waves. However, these signals are more easily blocked by walls, furniture, and other obstacles, making reliable wireless coverage more difficult in many indoor and urban environments. To address this challenge, researchers at Aalto University have developed passive 3D-printed metacrystal panels that redirect radio waves without requiring power, electronics, or additional base stations.
