South Africa Starts Preparing for 6G With New ICASA Spectrum Roadmap

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), yesterday, published its International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) Roadmap 2026, alongside draft implementation plans for public consultation. This document does not introduce new mobile services or expand network coverage. Instead, it outlines how South Africa will prepare the radio spectrum expected to be used by future 6G networks once the technology is ready.
