CIOs warn that talent shortage is holding back AI in companies

A shortage of expertise has held back AI initiatives in many organizations, as limited knowledge of the technology has restricted professionals' ability to realize the potential of AI. According to CIO.com's State of the CIO 2026 survey, a lack of internal talent was the top challenge IT teams faced when implementing AI strategies over the past 12 months, according to 40% of respondents.
