Top Democrat Unveils Broad AI Agenda With Focus on Financial Risk and Cybersecurity

Mark Warner (D-Va.) has unveiled a package of legislation that would expand federal oversight of AI across financial markets, banking, consumer services, critical infrastructure and national security. In a speech on the Senate floor , he said Congress needs to establish regulatory guardrails before the technology becomes too deeply embedded in the economy to govern effectively. Warner, who sits on the Finance, Banking and Budget committees, framed the package of bills around four priorities
