TRAI objects to Truecaller's 'Frequently Blocked' tag, says users may be misled by this

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has objected to caller ID app Truecaller showing "Frequently Blocked" badge on 140 and 1600 series numbers. The government says such labeling could create confusion among telecom users and create unnecessary doubt about legitimate commercial and government calls. According to a senior TRAI official, it is not right to show the number series which have been earmarked by the government for a special purpose with a tag like "Frequently Blocked".
