Stripe and Advent Offer $53 Billion to Acquire PayPal

Payments giant Stripe and private equity firm Advent International have jointly offered to acquire PayPal in a deal valued at more than $53 billion , marking what could become one of the biggest acquisitions in fintech history. According to Reuters, the two companies have proposed paying $60.50 per share , representing a 28% premium over PayPal’s closing share price on Tuesday. The offer is reportedly backed by around $50 billion in committed financing from banks.
