Nigeria Moves to Regulate Digital Health With First National e-Health Bill

Nigeria’s digital health sector has spent years growing without a dedicated legal framework. The Senate has now taken the first formal step toward changing that. Lawmakers on Tuesday passed the second reading of a bill that would establish Nigeria’s first comprehensive legal and regulatory framework for electronic health services, creating legal recognition for everything from telemedicine and electronic medical records to health-data interoperability and digital disease surveillance.
