Nigeria Moves to Harmonise Digital Rules as Tijani Orders Suspension on Overlapping Regulations

Nigeria’s technology regulators have decided to suspend the implementation of new digital rules while the government clarifies which agency is responsible for what. This decision follows a directive from the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. He instructed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) to keep current regulations in place.
