Sky Agrees £1.6 Billion ITV Deal as UK Broadcasters Chase Scale

Comcast’s Sky has agreed to acquire the broadcast and streaming arm of ITV for up to £1.6 billion, in a transaction that brings Britain’s largest free-to-air commercial broadcaster under the ownership of an American media company and marks one of the biggest shake-ups in the history of British broadcasting. The agreement, announced on Monday, gives the pay-TV operator control of the broadcaster’s family of television channels and its streaming platform, ITVX. It does not include ITV Studios, the
