Government's strictness on Instagram, order to immediately remove objectionable advertisements related to children, reply sought from Meta within 7 days

The Central Government has issued a strict notice to Meta, the parent company of social media platform Instagram, directing it to immediately remove objectionable content and advertisements related to sexual exploitation of children. According to media reports, the government has also sought a reply from the company on this entire matter within seven days. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) issued an order on Saturday saying that any advertisement or content on Instagram that provides access to Child Sexual Exploitative and Abuse Material (CSEAM).
