Semiconductor 881 trillion won, data center 550 trillion won... Korean government unveils high-tech industry investment map
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that it held a public briefing session on Korea's three major leap forward mega projects at the Blue House guesthouse on the 29th in collaboration with related ministries to discuss investment plans in three major fields, including semiconductors, physical AI such as AI robots, and AI data centers, and plans to expand infrastructure such as power and location. First, the government proposed the ‘3S+1F strategy’, which adds a full-support system to speed, stronghold, and spearhead to secure a super gap in memory and dominate the future semiconductor market. As part of the speed battle, the company plans to double the memory production capacity within 5 years by shortening the completion time of the final fab in the Yongin National Industrial Complex and General Industrial Complex by 7 and 12 years, respectively.
