WhatsApp Rolls Out Usernames for More Private Chats

WhatsApp has announced one of its most anticipated privacy features: usernames. The new feature will allow users to connect with others without revealing their phone numbers, offering greater privacy while maintaining the app’s phone number-based registration system. The Meta-owned messaging platform said users will be able to reserve usernames starting today, with the feature expected to roll out gradually across different countries later this year.
