The shift toward AI-native telecom networks is accelerating across the global industry as operators prepare infrastructure for generative AI, autonomous agents, and future 6G services. According to Ericsson’s latest Mobility Report, global 5G subscriptions reached 3.1 billion in the first quarter of 2026, adding 162 million new subscribers during the quarter, while global mobile data traffic increased 22 percent year over year.
