OpenAI announces AI-based cyber defense vision ‘Daybreak’

OpenAI announced on its official website on the 11th, “Next-generation cyber defense must be internalized from the beginning of software development,” and “We must move away from fixing vulnerabilities after the fact and move toward creating a structure that is strong against vulnerabilities from the beginning.” Daybreak is a project that combines OpenAI's AI model, Codex, an agent-type execution environment, and the security industry partner ecosystem. Through this, OpenAI plans to integrate security functions throughout the entire development process and help developers and security personnel detect, analyze, and fix vulnerabilities more quickly. According to OpenAI, AI has now advanced to the point where it can analyze large codebases, identify subtle vulnerabilities, and verify fixes.
