Pune Police write to Google, Apple to take down Rapido app amid bike taxi licence dispute

Pune police have asked Google and Apple to remove Rapido’s app from their app stores to shut down its unlicensed bike taxi service in the city. “We have already sent communications to Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store to put down Rapido’s application,” Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar told the Times of India . Maharashtra attempted the same step in May but reversed the decision within a day.
