ByteDance’s PineDrama targets overseas growth with an ecosystem behind its free model

ByteDance is extending the competition in China’s short-drama market to overseas markets. According to Jiemian News , PineDrama, ByteDance’s overseas short-drama platform, is operated independently by a team within TikTok’s business division rather than by the team behind Hongguo Short Drama. Since its launch, the platform has seen sustained download growth and has entered the top 10 on the iPhone free-app charts in the US, Brazil, and Thailand.
