Meta-owned WhatsApp is developing an intelligent call-screening feature that can automatically answer incoming calls from unknown numbers on behalf of the user. Discovered in early development for Android, the upcoming feature moves beyond basic call blocking by actively questioning unidentified callers about their identity and intent before ringing through to the device.
