Disney to Hire Most of Character.AI’s Workforce

Disney has agreed to offer jobs to at least 60 employees of Character.AI, the chatbot startup that filed for bankruptcy earlier this week, as the entertainment company moves to acquire some of its assets in a $20 million deal. A legal filing cited by Bloomberg revealed that the agreement includes estimated annual compensation of $60 million for the employees offered positions at Disney. The filing also states that the vast majority of those who received offers have accepted them.
