India to release AI regulation consultation paper in 30 days: Vaishnaw

Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said the government will release a consultation paper on AI regulation within 30 days. He outlined the plan while addressing the India launch of the World Bank Group's World Development Report 2026: The Promise of Artificial Intelligence , held in New Delhi on October 8. The proposed framework comes as AI adoption expands across enterprises, public services, and digital platforms.
