Google just gave Gemini a new role to fill at work, and it’s a big one

TL;DR Google has introduced a new universal Gemini agent that can complete multi-step tasks across apps without constant user input. The agent works with Google Workspace, Slack, and Microsoft 365, maintains context across devices, and can use specialized AI sub-agents. It’s currently available only to enterprise customers in private preview, with no word on a wider consumer release.
