GST Council may consider letting NATGRID agencies access taxpayer data

The GST Council is likely to consider a proposal at its upcoming meeting that would let central intelligence and investigative agencies, and State and Union Territory police officials, use NATGRID to access specified GST-related taxpayer information, an anonymous senior government official told BusinessLine . Under the proposal, GST data could be shared through application programming interfaces (APIs) that would give agencies registered on NATGRID a structured way to get disaggregated GST data.
