Owning Less, Achieving More: The Middle East’s New Telco Model

Across the Middle East , telecom operators are simultaneously becoming larger technology businesses and leaner infrastructure companies. They are moving deeper into cloud, data centers, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, and enterprise technology, while at the same time carving out, sharing, or restructuring some of the physical infrastructure that once sat at the heart of their operations. The result is a paradox: the telco is getting bigger and smaller at the same time.
