Femtum opens new Québec City factory to build more lasers for chipmakers

Québec City-based Femtum has moved into a much larger hub as it looks to scale up the production of its laser technology for the chipmakers at the heart of the AI data centre boom. The news: Femtum develops laser-cutting tech for advanced semiconductor manufacturers. After four years at the National Optics Institute-based Quantino tech incubator, Femtum announced the opening of its new, $2.1-million headquarters inside Québec City’s Metropolitan Technology Park today.
