Nokia and ICEYE Partner on Sovereign Satellite LEO Communications for Defence

Nokia ICEYE satellite communications are at the centre of a new partnership between Nokia and Finnish satellite company ICEYE to develop secure, sovereign low Earth orbit (LEO) systems for governments and defence customers. The companies announced the partnership on October 1, saying the jointly developed broadband systems will support missions including defence, border security, emergency services and disaster response. The first communications satellites are expected to launch in 2028.
