Apple Pay launches in India; What if Apple applies for a UPI licence?

iPhone maker Apple has launched Apple Pay payment services in India. The service has launched without support for UPI, which accounted for 84% of India’s digital payment transactions, according to a 2025 International Monetary Fund report . Apple Pay does not support RuPay cards either.
