When we think about robots at a fashion show, two things immediately come to mind: innovation and controversy. Innovation, because fashion has a long history of using technology to create moments that feel ahead of their time. One of the most memorable examples came in Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 1999 show, when two industrial robotic arms, originally used in automobile manufacturing, spray-painted a white dress worn by Shalom Harlow as she rotated on a platform.
