Transnet South Africa Seeks Private Partners for R44bn Manganese Export Corridor

South Africa’s state-owned ports and rail operator Transnet is seeking private-sector partners to develop and operate a manganese export corridor in a project that could require as much as R44 billion ($2.7 billion) in investment. The proposed Ngqura manganese export corridor will consolidate exports at the Port of Ngqura in the Eastern Cape while connecting the country’s manganese-producing regions in the Northern Cape to a more integrated rail and port system. Transnet says the project is inte
