Altman and Amodei Call for Global AI Guardrails at UN

The CEOs of rival artificial intelligence labs Anthropic and OpenAI agreed Wednesday (Sept. 23) that there is a need for global standards to address potential risks around AI and that both governments and the industry should be involved in decisions about the technology, Bloomberg reported Wednesday. Dario Amodei of Anthropic and Sam Altman of OpenAI addressed a United Nations Security Council meeting focused on concerns about AI, according to the report.
