Mafab Communications to sell $273.6m 5G Spectrum to MTN Nigeria

Nigerian telecommunications operator Mafab Communications is moving to sell its $273.6 million spectrum portfolio to market leader MTN Nigeria . The deal marks a pivotal strategic exit for the newcomer, effectively ending its pursuit of building an independent nationwide 5G network from scratch. The proposed transaction encompasses Mafab’s prized spectrum holdings, notably its 100MHz block in the high-capacity 3.5GHz band along with its 2x20MHz allocation in the 2.1GHz band.
