Karnataka Data Centre Policy targets 1 GW in sustainable compute

Karnataka is positioning sustainable, AI-ready infrastructure at the centre of its new Data Centre Policy 2026–31, approved at the Coastal Cabinet Meeting in Mangaluru. The policy targets 1 GW of cumulative data centre capacity by 2031. It aims to capture a 10–12% share of India’s AI-ready data centre ecosystem, backed by a proposed outlay of Rs 1,300.45 crore.
