Noel Tata opposes extension to N Chandrasekaran

Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata was unequivocal in his opposition to the five year extension given to Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran, who had earlier stated that he would be stepping down from his role in February 2027. A formal statement from Noel Tata recalled that Chandrasekaran had himself offered not to seek reappointment for the role of Chairman on August 12, 2026, and this was duly accepted by the Tata Sons board, and a process was set in motion to find a successor.
