Zomato begins charging extra for cash on delivery orders; Will Swiggy follow suit?

Food delivery platform Zomato has begun charging an additional fee for cash on delivery (CoD) orders, with charges varying across users and order values. App listings reviewed by MediaNama showed Zomato has rolled out a “Pay on delivery fee” for orders where customers choose to pay in cash when the food arrives. The new fee is separate from Zomato’s platform fee, restaurant and packaging charges, and delivery fees.
